A Brahmin of Calcutta’s radical Young Bengal circle who was baptized in 1832, ordained in 1839 and later taught at Bishop’s College; signing himself K. M. Banerjea, he argued in his last books that the Vedas’ own teaching on sacrifice pointed to Christ.
